Come join our hosts The Lopez Island Yacht Club for Opening Day of the Yacht season festivities in Fisherman Bay.
We will sail or cruise over to Fisherman Bay on the 5th but due to the shallow entrance those with draft concerns should arrive after half tide, high tide being at about 6:30 pm. Check your tidal charts as minus tides are projected.
Call ASAP the Lopez Islander Resort Marina at 360-468-2233 to make reservations. They are offering club members a special deal at $25 per night. Sign up for the $15 Smash or Salmon burger dinner and/or register for the dinghy race and/or christen your boat by contacting Pete or BJ at 360-461-3877 or peteandbj@gmail.com. Besides the details of the May 6th Opening Day festivities on Saturday we have an option to walk a couple miles to Grace church for a 12:30 Salish Sea Early Music Festival Bach baroque music recital. Lopez Village with galleries, Holly’s Bakery and fine dining is also less than a mile away.
On May 5th its dinner as you choose but trust we will welcome you with cocktails.
Sunday morning folks will have the option of departing early with the high tide slack, 6 AM, turning to ebb at 7 AM. Others might choose to linger and explore. A Sunday morning walk for pastries at Hollys seems like a great idea. Hope you can join us.
